Lagos is a portuguese locality of about 20,000 inhabitants that is found in the region of the Algarve in the province of Faro. It is also divided in three districts, Barao de Sao Joao, Bensafrim, Lux, Odiaxere, Santa maria and Sao Sebastiao. The main attraction for tourism are Lagos´extensive golden sand beaches. Lagos belongs to the portuguese Algarve, it is synonym for tourism. Thousands of tourists come searching for beautiful beaches, golf, aquatic sports, trekking etc. They also have a wide range of accomodations to choose from starting with apartments, country homes, hotels, hostels etc. All in the city and it´s surroundings. Lagos borders with other touristy areas like Portimao, Monchique, Vila do Bispo and Aljezur.
